Rishulin
Rishulin
If there were an equivalent in Buenos Aires to the Left Bank in Paris, it would be La Boca, where Rishulin was born in 1958. A bohemian conflagration of artists, musicians, studios and tourists, the place has been host to such world-famous talents as Prilidiano Puerredon, Cognoro and de la Vega. It was by assisting these mentors that the young Rishulin mastered the vision he served, and which now serves him so well.
Rishulin has accepted invitations to group exhibitions at the Salon de pintura Boquense, La Boca Popular Ateno. Belgrano University and Centro Cultural San Martin, in addition, he has studied with Gorrlarena, one of the foremost oil painting teachers, and between painting, he plays several musical instruments.
Rishulin’s young, energetic brush, reminiscent of Cezanne yet distinctly his own, creates works of witty, cosmopolitan storytelling, where a single element—a riot of flowers, a stiletto-heeled shoe, a sleeping cat—can speak volumes. But more than that, it is his fierce passion for fearless, exuberant colors that show him to be one of the singular voices of our times.
